BioLamina seeks two Heads of Production to drive excellence at our Sundbyberg and Flemingsberg sites. Lead manufacturing, ensure compliance, and support groundbreaking cell therapy research.
BioLamina AB is a biotech company that produces recombinant laminins, human proteins that support pluripotent stem cells and primary cell types. Researchers use our innovative products worldwide to advance cellular therapies and regenerative medicine.
BioLamina is looking for two experienced Heads of Production to lead production departments in Sundbyberg and Flemingsberg.
Each Head of Production will be responsible for leading, managing, and developing the Production Department to ensure the efficient and high-quality manufacturing of BioLamina’s products. The Heads of Production will work closely with other departments to ensure Quality On Time In Full (QOTIF) delivery while adhering to ISO 9001 standards and applicable regulations.
These roles are member of Operations leadership team and contribute in driving production capability and capacity expansion to meet market demand, developing high-quality standards in line with customer requirements, and optimizing cost efficiency.
Each Head of Production will be based in Sundbyberg or Flemingsberg, with occasional tasks at respective sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Production Department, including personnel oversight and production suite and equipment ownership.
- Ensure occupational health, safety, and environmental (HSE) compliance, including conducting safety rounds.
- Oversee Production operations, including laboratories, equipment, routines, and material needs to ensure QOTIF delivery according to Master Plan. Actively participate in cross functional forums for coordination of delivery.
- Drive continuous improvement of production department to enhance safety, quality, capacity, efficiency, and effectiveness.
- Actively participate in Operations Leadership Team in developing and implementing operational strategies and plans, ensuring the availability of necessary capacity and production capabilities.
- Manage HR-related functions within the team, including workforce planning, scheduling, delegation, recruitment, training, performance management, and organizational development.
- Establish and maintain documented routines, procedures and records to support efficient and safe production operations.
- Ensure the proper implementation of quality and HSE risk assessments and user requirements for production facilities, materials, and equipment.
- Develop, manage, and monitor the Production plan and budget, ensuring alignment with company goals.
- Contribute to production forecasting to support customer delivery planning and supply chain alignment.
- Manage long- and short-term resource planning, including personnel, training, equipment, and materials.
- Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive department efficiency and performance improvements.
- Sponsor/lead and contribute to quality and timely implementation of key projects and initiatives, such as NPI, production scale-up, process development, digitalisation and quality initiatives.
- Actively participate and support cross-functional forums for broader development of BioLamina.
General Responsibilities:
- Keep personal training up to date and stay informed on updated procedures.
- Report observations and deviations within and outside the scope of responsibility.
- Ensure compliance with BioLamina’s Quality Management System (QMS) and contribute to its continuous improvement.
- Plan and execute work based on company priorities and contribute to overall company and operations development.
Requirements:
- M.Sc. Degree in Biotechnology or similar with minimum 10 years relevant working experience OR extensive relevant industry working experience on senior level.
- Proven leadership experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of production planning, quality control, and process optimization.
- Experience working in a regulated environment (ISO 9001, GMP preferred).
- Experience with budgeting, resource planning, and performance management.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
- Technical knowledge of production equipment, laboratory operations, and material handling is a plus.
- Proficient in both spoken and written English; Swedish language skills are an added advantage.
