Senior Process Engineer
BioLamina is seeking a Senior Process Engineer to lead and optimize recombinant protein production. Join us to drive innovation, ensure quality, and shape the future of regenerative medicine.
BioLamina is on the lookout for a Senior Process Engineer to join our growing team. As a Senior Process Engineer, you will play a key role in our Technology Team, part of the Operations unit, which oversees the full production lifecycle—from raw material sourcing and manufacturing to packaging, delivery, and documentation.
Our work spans the entire supply chain for defined production processes, supporting every aspect of recombinant protein production with a strong focus on quality, consistency, and traceability.
If you are passionate about biotechnology and thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment where innovation and precision go hand in hand, we invite you to become part of our mission to advance the future of protein-based research and therapies.
Main Responsibilities
- Act as SME (Subject Matter Expert) for production processes.
- Lead and drive the implementation of process development projects (new products/optimizations), including scale-up, implementation, and validation, in close collaboration with other team members, production, and process development.
- Responsible for continuous improvements of the production processes and technologies with a focus on quality, capacity, and cost efficiency.
- Evaluate process impact in cases such as deviations, CAPAs, and Change Controls.
- Approve documentation related to process impact, e.g., study reports, BPRs, SOPs.
- Responsible for ongoing monitoring of the production processes and for organizing cross-functional review meetings.
- Collaborate closely with adjacent functions such as Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and R&D.
- Define and ensure relevant process documentation is available and up to date for production processes, e.g., process descriptions, critical process parameters, list of critical starting materials, process verification reports, SOPs, BPRs, instructions, and records.
- Responsible for knowledge sharing and training within the area of responsibility.
Qualifications & Profile
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Life Sciences, or related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in quality regulated biopharmaceutical or biotech manufacturing, with a focus on protein production, upstream/midstream/downstream processing, or related operations.
- Demonstrated experience as Subject Matter Expert (SME) or technical lead in process development, optimization, or validation.
- Hands-on experience with manufacturing processes, such as cell culture, purification, or formulation, preferably involving recombinant proteins.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
Personal skills
We are looking for a proactive, data driven, detail-oriented professional with a solid background in bioprocessing or biotechnology manufacturing. The ideal candidate combines hands-on experience with strategic thinking, technical expertise (e.g., stirred tank bioreactors, filtration techniques and process scale up), and is equally comfortable working in the lab or leading process improvements and development projects. You thrive in cross-functional collaboration, bring a structured and analytical approach to problem-solving, and are driven by a strong commitment to quality and continuous improvement. Excellent communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to take initiative and work independently are key to succeeding in this role.
